As South Africa and the world are celebrating Mandela Day, whereby people are encouraged to dedicate 67 minutes of their time on this day by doing good unto others in honor of a man who has been considered as one of the greatest men of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Surprisingly Prophet TB Joshua had a mouthful to say about the South African Icon Nelson Mandela.

Speaking to thousands of his followers at his church yesterday TB Joshua said, “even Christians have lauded this man without bothering to see the truth of what he believed.

“The reality is that Nelson Mandela was a Marxist, a Communist, a terrorist, a leader of an organization that used such bizarre and horrific practices known as necklacing in order to achieve his own ends.

He was not a man of peace, but a promoter of war and hatred. Further, he hated God and loved the abominations that God hates.” Said TB Joshua.This sermon in no way can be assumed as a promotion of apartheid because we believe that it was wrong.

However, we must remember that two wrongs never make a right.Some would question why we are trampling on the grave of a man that has been labelled as an icon.

The reason is because too many Christians are buying into the media hype without seeing the truth.

The bottom line is this though.

No matter what Mandela did and no matter what anybody thought of him, the moment he died he found himself facing the sovereign Creator of the Universe who is the all-seeing and all-knowing Judge of the souls ofmen.Mandela crossed the line into eternity without having ever placed his faith in Christ alone, by grace through faith alone, and been brought to repent and confess his sins before a holy, righteous God, therefore he is paying the ultimate penalty for his sins in hell forever.

He did not go to hell because he was a terrorist, a Marxist, or a Communist.

He was sent to hell because of his rejection of Jesus Christ. And i saw him myself in hell with my spiritual eye, said Prophet TB Joshua addressing thousands of his disciples.

This is not something we rejoice in, but it does serve as a warning to all those who think they can mock God and get away with it. Judgment will come because it is appointed unto man once to dieand after that moment the time of judgment arrives.

Davido Adeleke, Nigerian singer better known as Davido, has announced his intention to start a yearly scholarship for the less privileged.

The artiste, whose father is a billionaire, made this known on Tuesday, in a post on his Instagram page.

“I plan to send people to school every year”, said Davido, who also revealed that the scholarship will be in his late mother’s name.

“So many people deserve education.. Starting from this year I plan to start the Veronica Adeleke Education Scholarship program.”

“I’m starting from 4 students this year details will be released soon on how to apply. Do your part to make the world better, even if you start small… at least start”, the artiste said.

The singer, fondly called Omo Baba Olowo (OBO), has a history of granting education aid.

Davido once promised to take a little boy out of street hawking business and pay for his education up until the university level.

“Every child deserves an education but it’s sad that, that is not the case in the world today but if we all do our part, the world would be a better place. God bless his soul. I am ready to give him education till he finishes university”, the artiste had announced on social media.

In another instance, the HKN label boss, tweeted that he was in the mood to give out an unspecified amount of money.

After getting tons of requests from fans, Davido settled on Jide Sanyaolu, a Nigerian who had just dropped out of the University of Liverpool, UK.

Jide, who was studying Electronics and Communications Engineering, had taken a year’s break from school because his parents couldn’t afford the £24,700 tuition required to continue his studies.

Despite having raised £4000 in donations from crowd-funding platform, gofundme.com, Davido offered to give him an additional N1 million to clear his school fees.

Davido, who recently graduated from Babcock University, has a strong educational background.

His late mother, Dr Veronica Imade Adeleke, who died in 2003, was a lecturer at Babcock University, an institution where her husband has a substantial stake.

Davido’s father, Deji Adeleke is also the pro-chancellor of privately owned Adeleke University, in Ede, Osun state.

Thirteen inmates escaped in fresh jailbreak recorded at Koton Karfe prison in Kogi in the early hours of Saturday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) gathered from a reliable source that the incident happened at about 7AM when the inmates forcefully brought down the wall of the prison.

The all male prison facility which was inaugurated in 2014 has the capacity to accommodate 180 inmates.

However, NAN gathered that it was accommodating 263 inmates as at the time of the jailbreak, Saturday.

NAN also gathered that one of the escaped inmates was re-arrested almost immediately by security agents.

NAN recalls that this was the third jailbreak recorded in Koton Karfe as the old prison facility witnessed similar jailbreaks in 2010 and 2013.

In previous jailbreaks 132 inmates escaped from the prison and majority were awaiting trials.

It was gathered that Comptroller–General of the Nigeria Prison Service immediately sent a representative to Koton Karfe to assess the situation.

The State’s Controller of Prison, Musa Maza, who would have shed more light on the incident, did not pick several calls made to his mobile telephone line.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) yesterday said it has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for admission earlier sent to the tertiary institutions.

In a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Head of Media, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, he said the withdrawal is to ensure the university senate perform its statutory responsibility. ‎

The statement reads ; “This is to ensure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states as directed by the Hon Minister of Education at the policy committee meeting.

“The earlier list was sent to help fast track the process of admission so as to allow other tiers of institutions also conduct their admission. “Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions “The Board regrets any inconvenience it’s proactive step would have caused the tertiary institutions”.

SSS Arrests Alleged Abductor Of Missing ABUJA Girl

Operatives of the State of State Services (SSS) have arrested Mr. Cornelius Ubara, the suspected abductor of 16-year old Precious Osuji, who got missing from her home in Kapwa, a suburb of Abuja.

She has been missing since November 13, 2015. The suspect was until her sudden disappearance a tenant of her parents and lived with them in the same premises.
Sources said the man, Cornelius Ubara, was arrested by the operatives through painstaking investigations and deployment of state-of-the-art technology.

Mr. Ubara was in possession of the hand set of the abducted girl when he was arrested from a hideout in one of the states in the South West.
He had packed out of the premises of Mr. Alex Osuji, Precious’ father after he was arrested on suspicion that he could be behind the girl’s sudden disappearance from home.

The decision of the police to release him on bail, at the FCT Police Headquarters made Mr Osuji suspicious of a possible cover up in the case.

Mr. Osuji told vanguard that his suspicion became stronger when the police at the Command Headquarters became hostile to him and refused to issue him a police extract to enable him undertake a massive publicity on his missing daughter.

After two months without his daughter returning home and the tenant having packed out of his premises with the permission of the police, a frustrated Mr. Osuji wrote a petition to the SSS on January 19, 2016, in which he expressed his strong suspicion that Mr. Ubara could be his daughter’s abductor.

Following the father’s petition, SSS started trailing Ubara’s movement until he was finally nabbed.

President Buhari Sacks Ibe Kachikwu As NNPC Boss, Appoints New Board

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the composition of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), as provided for under Section 1(2) of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Act of 1997, as amended.

Mr. Buhari also removed Ibe Kachikwu as group managing director of the corporation, a statement by presidential spokesperson, Femi Adesina, showed.

He however allowed him to remain as minister of state for petroleum and will serve as chairman of the new NNPC board.

The new NNPC GMD is Maikanti Kacalla Baru, according to the presidency.

The new board is composed of the following:
A. Chairman-Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum;
B. Group Managing Director- Dr Maikanti Kacalla Baru;
C. The Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance; and
D. The following six persons:
1. Mallam Abba Kyari
2. Dr Thomas M.A John
3. Dr Pius O. Akinyelure
4. Dr Tajuddeen Umar
5. Mallam Mohammed Lawal, and
6. Mallam Yusuf Lawal.
President Buhari urges the new board to ensure the successful delivery of the mandate of the NNPC, ” and serve the nation by upholding the public trust placed on them in managing this critical national asset.”

Fuel scarcity looms in Nigeria as the leadership of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN has instructed its members around the country to abandon their duty posts from Thursday July 7th and proceed on strike action.
In a statement signed by its acting general secretary, Lumumba Okugbawa, PENGASSAN blamed the proposed strike on the Federal Government’s inability to honor their agreement contained in a May 12, 2016 communiqué.

PENGASSAN had on June 19th condemned the sack of some of its workers in some oil corporations in Nigeria and had given the Federal government a 7-day ultimatum to intervene and failure to do so would result in a full scale strike action. The seven-day ultimatum lapsed on last Wednesday, June 27th.

ABUJA Masterplan: Iddo Community Gets 30days Quit Notice

To make Abuja buildings conform to the city’s original master plan, the FCTA, through the department of Development Control, had often embarked on demolition of buildings and structures in the territory.
Besides demolitions, buildings that violate building standards or erected where they were not supposed to be are sealed.

While in some cases, buildings are demolished for failing integrity test or sealed for integrity test to be conducted on them as a precautionary action to avert collapse.
Notwithstanding the reasons government used to give to justify demolition of structures, some people have divergent views on demolition of buildings that residents spent their hard earned savings to build. These people argue that, the FCTA ought to have, through proper monitoring and regulations, prevented such buildings from springing up in the first place, rather than wait until people completed them and settled in them and destroy them.
One of the areas awaiting the bulldozers of the Development Control Department of the FCTA is Sabo Iddo village, along Airport Road.
The FCT, Wednesday, issued residents of the area one month notice to voluntarily leave the community or face the FCT Development Control Department’s bulldozers.
To show its level of seriousness over the impending demolition of the community, the Development Control officials, accompanied by a combined team of armed policemen and soldiers, stormed the community to inform the residents and the community’s head, Alkali Ibrahim, of the decision to demolish buildings standing on a large expanse of land in the community.

The Deputy Director, Monitoring and Enforcement, Kuchume S. Bawa, who led the team, told the community that the settlement was illegal and encroached permanent site of the University of Abuja.
Bawa said that the settlement would be totally demolished as it is located within the area allocated for the university.
He said that at the expiration of the one month notice, officials of the department would return to the community to carry out intensive marking of houses in the village.
He said that though the government adopted dialogue method in its effort to stop building of illegal structures and expansion of the settlement, issuance of removal notice and or actual removal of illegal buildings are part of the routine function of the department, under the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC).
He stressed that the department instead of storming the community with its bulldozers to enforce removal of the illegal structures on the university’s land, the officials chose to visit the area to inform the people concerned to voluntarily leave the place to avoid recording loss of any kind.
“Before, we just moved in and start carrying out removal of illegal structures, but now that is not what we do,” he said. “We first dialogue with the people concerned, so that we will now know what their problems are and the best strategies to be used to remove the illegal structures.”
As soon as the development control gave the community one month notice to vacate the area, fear and despair engulfed the residents. The village is said to be occupied by about 30,000 indigenous Gbagyi natives of Abuja and other settlers.
Daily Trust gathered that majority of the Sabo Iddo settlers are famers, artisans and businessmen.
The residents expressed their shock and disbelief over the development.
Chief of Sabo Iddo community, Yakubu Musa Alkali, said that the claim made by the authorities that the settlement is illegal is untrue as the place has been in existence for a very long time.
He said that the area is their ancestral land and he was born in the community and had seen the development of FCT to what it is today without anybody threatening to displace them.
He said that they were not informed of any demolition notice until Wednesday, adding that normal procedures were not followed by the department’s officials.
“The chief of Garki ought to be communicated to and then the district head of Iddo who will then briefed me of the government’s intentions, but that wasn’t done,” he said.
Alkali said that in his position as the ward head, he has no intention of taking up the matter with the FCTA, as the district head who he is directly under, would take the next line of action.
The head said that it wasn’t only Sabo Iddo that is said to encroach the land allocated to the University of Abuja, wondering why the community was the only one singled out for demolition. Beside, he said, the population there is too large to be given a month’s quit notice.
Alkali, however, appealed to the government to reconsider its decision to demolish their houses, saying that his people have no other place to go if they are forced out of the community.

When Daily Trust asked some of the residents on whether they would comply with the authority’s directive, they said that their fate rest squarely in the hands of the ward head, whom they hope would seek justice for them.
A resident, Roseline Musa, who looked worried, said that she has been living in the community for many years now and would find it difficult to cope if they were forced out.
“I live here with my two children,” she said. “I also engage in petty business here. They should please leave us alone because we are managing ourselves here and have always remained law abiding.”

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Timothy Idowu, for allegedly raping his 15-year-old daughter in the Aradagun, Badagry area of the state.

According to Ireportgist, the matter got to the attention of the police after the victim, Victoria (pseudonym), packed from her father’s apartment to put up with a family friend in the Ikotun area.

He had travelled for a prayer meeting on the day his daughter fled home.

It was learnt that Victoria, who had been kept in government’s custody, was raped while her mother

was bedridden.

Idowu was arrested on Thursday, June 23, by the Badagry Police Division.

A social worker, identified only as Ibrahim, who reported the matter to the police, said the victim fled to her aunt in the Ikotun area.

He said:

“The victim fled to a relative, who is her aunt in the Ikotun area. The aunt thereafter contacted our organisation.

The case got to my attention last week. I reported the case at the police station in Badagry immediately and the man was arrested.

“The victim said she could not bear it anymore as her father had raped her several times in the year. She said anytime the family slept at night, the father would sneak into her room and rape her. He would thereafter warn her not to tell anyone. She claimed the father started from the beginning of the year.”
Speaking with Ireportgist.com ,

a neighbour, who did not want his name in print, said the victim had also reported to her while fleeing the house.
She said:

“The girl came to me on the day she was fleeing home and said her father had been raping her. I thought she was mentally unstable, until the man was arrested some days ago.”

Victoria told the police in her statement that her father deflowered her.
She said:

“I am 15 years old. I am in Senior Secondary Class 2. My father deflowered me several months ago, and he had been raping me since then. Whenever he did it, he would clean up the mess and warn me not to tell anybody.”

A police source said the suspect also allegedly raped Victoria’s elder sister, who attended a college of education in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed Idowu’s arrest.

“Investigation is still ongoing,” she added.

Herdsmen Turn ABUJA Natiponal Stadium To Grazing Land

The dilapidated Abuja National stadium with an environment overgrown with bush has been invaded by herdsmen with their cattle.
TheAuthority reported that since the scrapping of the National Sports Commission (NSC), the stadium has remained a grave yard as the Minister of Youth and Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung, moved the entire staff back to the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.
As a result of the closure of the offices and mass movement of staff to the Federal Secretariat, the facilities have been neglected with little or no maintenance
It was gathered also that the herdsmen who are in groups overwhelmed the stadium security officials who tried to stop them from their activities, especially at the package B of the stadium.

“It has been a routine for these herdsmen to horde their cows to this place for grazing, especially in the last one year. They invade the stadium at will and it seems nobody is ready to stop or caution them,” said a security personnel attached to the stadium.
When TheAuthority sought the view of the stadium manager, Mr Sati Mbok, he said that the management has been making frantic efforts to stop the herdsmen, but they have rather continued to increase in their numbers.
“Honestly the issue of herdsmen is a problem here, as they have ignored our directives, rather they keep on multiplying in numbers.”

I Made A Big Mistake Taking Over My Late Wife’s Drug Trafficking Business – Arrested Evangelist

A 52-year-old evangelist, John Arinze, has been arrested by the The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency over his attempt to export N1.4bn worth of narcotics to South Africa.

The drugs, made of 92kgs of methamphetamine and 73kgs of ephedrine, were detected inside two containers of foodstuff meant for export to South Africa at the Apapa Seaport in Lagos.

A statement by the NDLEA spokesperson, Mitchell Ofoyeju, on Friday said the suspect, who is a Nigerian based in South Africa, was under interrogation following an intense undercover operation by the agency and that he had confessed to the crime.

He added that sniffer dogs belonging to the agency detected the drugs during screening operation.

The statement partly read, “During examination of the containersmarked MSKU 388274-1 and MSKU 424717-0; anti-narcotic officials detected 20kg of Methamphetamine and 50kg of Ephedrine inside the first container.

Also, 72Kg of Methamphetamine and 23Kg of Ephedrine were detected in the second container.

The total weight of the drugs is 165kg.

“Officers successfully traced the illicit consignment to a fifty-two year old man who claimed to be an evangelist by name John Vincent Arinze who was arrested in his hotel room in Lagos.

A Mercedes Benz sport utility vehicle belonging to him was also impounded at the time of arrest.

The suspect hails from Ara village, Nise in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

John who had lived in South Africa for over a decade accepted ownership of the illicit shipment.

”The statement noted further that the drugs were hidden inside packs of melon, concealed in foodstuff and cosmetics such as gaari (cassava flakes), noodles, food seasoning, yam powder, some alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, pepper, milk, herbal hair cream and cereal.

Other items in the container were said to include hair cream, bags of melon, kegs of palm oil, beans, biscuits and sardine.

The suspect was said to have told the operatives in his statementthat he made a “big mistake” by taking over the business of his late wife, who was into drug trafficking.

“I am an evangelist living in Durban South Africa.

My late wife was into drug trafficking before she died few years ago.

I made amistake venturing into her business. It is my fault,” he was quoted as saying.

Damini Ogulu (born 2 July 1991), better known by his stage name Burna Boy, is a Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter.

A Cameroonian who revealed his name as Sharkan Lucas, on Wednesday made shocking revelations on how he took to having se’x with dead bodies due to constant rejection from ladies because he works as mortuary attendant.
Lucas, an attendant at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, insisted he was mentally stable.

Speaking on Ghanaian TV station ADOM TV, the mortician claimed that sleeping with the dead women (an act called necrophilia) was part of the training he received when he was hired at the hospital in Ghana.

Lucas said, “I do it many many times. That is the training you have to do that, because once you have done that you will not be afraid of them again. If you want to bath the dead body, you will carry her legs up to wash her private part, that’s why we are taught to learn to sleep with the corpses. When I am inside the mortuary, I see some fresh girls and I satisfy myself.

“Being with dead bodies is normal for me because I am with them day and night. I feel like they are living whenever I am at work.

“Besides, I wanted to marry but the girl says I am a mortuary man. I can satisfy myself at the mortuary because girls don’t want to date me outside or live with me for fear that I may kill them. Living women rejected me because of my job, that is why I am still single.

“Since I was born, I have never slept with a living being. Working in a mortuary is a gift God gave me, it’s my talent. It’s very rare, not everybody can do it.

Eight School Girls Expelled After Getting Pregnant During School Term

Some school girls numbering about eight are being to pay for their sins after they were found out to have gotten pregnant.

The eight girls from a school in Elgeyo-Marakwet, a county in Kenya, got pregnant while the school term was still on.They were consequently expelled after the school management discovered they had taken in.

Moi Girls Kapsowar High School in Elgeyo-Marakwet county expelled the girls on grounds that they are likely to pull down the school’s mean grade.

Among them are three form four candidates who are also said tohave been de-registered by the school for fear that they will affect its performance in this year’s national examinations.

The parents have expressed their disappointment as their plans secure a bright future for their children has been dashed.

The parents also complain that all efforts to get admission for the girls in another school has been futile as the old school has refused to give them a recommendation letters letter Speaking to news men one the parents said, “We are really disheartened that our children’s future has been destroyed, even after bending over backwards to pay their school fees.

It is so sad that our children who we bank on as future leaders and development agents are predisposed to early pregnancies and marriages,”The parents now want authorities to step in and help them nab the culprits who are the fathers of the unborn babies.

The girls were taken to a local health centre for additional medical examination and to obtain P3 forms, as police begin investigations into the issue.
